Crisis Intervention

Perform Care
Information directly from Perform Care Website:
For a life-threatening emergency, always dial 911.
An emergency is defined as any serious behavioral health problem that, if not dealt with right away, could lead to your youth being harmed or possibly harming someone else.
If you have an emergency situation involving your youth that is life- threatening, seek help immediately by dialing 911.
If your emergency is not immediately life-threatening, contact PerformCare at 1-877-652-7624 and follow the menu prompts provided for an emergency situation. We will ask you a series of questions to determine how we can help.
If we find that your child should be evaluated for hospitalization, we will refer you to a local Screening Center. For a list of Crisis/Screening Centers by county, please visit the NJ Department of Human Services website.
PerformCare may authorize Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS) to come to your home and provide face-to-face crisis services within one hour of notification. The goal is to stabilize behavior and keep your youth at home. Mobile Response is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can offer up to eight weeks of stabilization services.

PerformCare is the door into the New Jersey Children's System of Care. PerformCare New Jersey works with the Children's System of Care (CSOC), formerly the Division of Child Behavioral Health Services, to coordinate the care of your child, youth, or young adult. We are committed to helping children with behavioral, mental health, or emotional challenges gain access to the services they need.
